This is part of a series about the scrapbooking booths I visited at CHA 2016. If you’d like to see all the posts in the series, please click HERE.
Next on the agenda was the American Crafts … area. I can’t even say booth because there was so much area covered.
I saw Amy Tangerine and Shimelle at the American Crafts booths but didn’t see Lizzy Karcher (aka Dear Lizzy). However, I saw her in some CHA videos so she was there, I must’ve just had bad timing.
I didn’t talk to Amy this time, as she was busy chatting.
I did briefly speak with Shimelle. I told her welcome back, that she was missed, and that all the scrapbooking peeps are happy about her new line and the return of Glitter Girl! She said even though it seemed like she was gone for a while, she actually hadn’t missed any shows and continued to release her products on schedule. Wow, she’s amazing!
When I asked if I could take a photo in front of her new line, she grabbed the basket. I had to make sure and get her sweet silver shoes in the photo too :)
Okay, for the rest of these photos, you’re on your own. There’s SO much goodness. I can’t even.

You can see all the new lines from American Crafts on their site HERE.
Check out these preview videos of brand new lines from BLUE MOON SCRAPBOOKING – lots of yumminess to follow. Get out yer drool cup!
“Stitched” by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts due in September 2014
Okay, I’m not into the stitching thing AT ALL. Ain’t nobody got time for that! But I love the rest of her line. Those Thickers especially are going to break my budget.
“Serendipity” by Dear Lizzy for American Crafts due in November 2014
Very girly and I love her handwriting!
Any my personal favorite, “Open Book” by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper (release date unknown)
Love this whole line! Maggie has a special talent for putting together such a variety of images that you wouldn’t think would go together . . . yet they do. That paper pad will be mine for sure.
While I was checking out Blue Moon’s videos of “coming soon” stuff, I found this video of Webster’s Pages “Ocean Melody” (second half of video).
I’ve been hearing everyone online raving about it but hadn’t seen the whole collection yet. Honestly, I was kind of avoiding it, LOL. I live near the ocean and we go all the time – hence, I have lots of beach photos. I knew I would want it if i dared to look.
For instance, we were just at the beach last evening – here are some of the many iPhone photos I took:
So I KNEW I would love and want the entire “Ocean Melody” line.
And I love it.
And I want it.
ALL.
Crud.
Wouldn’t that vellum called “Dusk” go perfectly with my recent photos?
At the beginning of the video, they also show “Strawberry Fields” which is lovely as well. It’s not my style as much as the “Ocean Melody” but I definitely want a few sheets of that bokeh and other papers.
BLUE MOON SCRAPBOOKING has both Webster’s Pages lines in stock now. Of course, they’ll stock the new Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy, and Maggie Holmes lines when released as well. I’m headed over there to shop . . . if I don’t come out in an hour, send help!
Well, unbeknownst to me, it’s National Craft Month on HSN. They failed to include me on the memo :D
And apparently it’s also National Wicked Cool Manicure Month!
Starting at midnight on Monday 03-24-14 (or 9pm Sunday night for those of us in the PST), HSN will be airing crafting and scrapbooking shows by (among others) ANNA GRIFFIN, MARTHA STEWART, and my personal favorite, LISA BEARNSON – check out the (4) new PROJECT LIFE kits for HSN she is debuting!
You MUST click over the Lisa B’s BLOG and see tons more photos. Well, I mean, click over there if you’re ready to buy something because you’ll want to after seeing all her great pics. Word.
Luckily for me, I’m broke. Ha! If I wasn’t, I’d be getting the “Daydreamer” and “Style Board” kits. OMBRE & WATERCOLOR & BOKEH, oh my!
Did you know you don’t have to wait for the shows to air to buy these kits? You can get them on HSN.com now {if they’re not already sold out}. I usually find things that are about to air in the crafting NEW ARRIVALS section.
The only problem is if we buy them all up before the show, Lisa won’t have anything to demo again, LOL. {Yes, that happened in the past}. Then again, things selling out before they even air shows HSN and other companies {I’m lookin’ at you, QVC!} that we scrappers are serious shoppers when you bring us new stuff at a decent price. Am I right?
To see when and what shows are airing, check out the HSN PROGRAM GUIDE and change the drop down menu to your time zone. Then set that DVR and get to recording! Or if you’re lucky and don’t have to be anywhere else, grab a bowl of popcorn, some coffee, and get to watchin’!!
And if you’re stuck at work on Monday – okay, do NOT tell your boss I told you this – but you can watch HSN live online RIGHT HERE. Just sayin’ . . .
Will you be watching HSN Crafting this time around? Do you think you’ll buy anything? What’s your favorite item?
ETA 03-23-14: Someone mentioned on Two Peas that Amazon had some of these kits without the extra stuff, if you don’t want that. I went to check and found that (as of this second) AZURE, DAYDREAMER, and STYLE BOARD are listed for good prices but sold out. I can’t find “Happy” on Amazon; someone mentioned it was maybe an exclusive to Australia?
Have you see this hot new song and video? My kids showed it to me a couple weeks ago and we’ve not been able to stop singing it – and laughing – ever since.
It was posted 09/03/13 and already has 94 million hits! Apparently, “Ylvis” are 2 brothers and comedians from Norway and they made the video to publicize their TV show. Wow, you never know what’s going to take off, do you? I even heard the song on the radio today and it gave me a big smile as I drove along. Although I kinda’ felt sorry for anyone who hadn’t seen the video – they must’ve been screaming “WTH???” at the radio, LOL.
Tchoff-choff-tchoff-choff-cha-choff-choff!
To make this scrapbook-related, have you noticed a fox trend in papercrafting? Here are just a few things I’ve seen lately:
As you may know, I have a thing about typos in scrapbook magazines and in published layouts. Well, how about typos in scrapbooking products??
In this Two Peas THREAD, a Pea points out that there’s an error in this BASIC GREY “Shift” paper from the “Lucille” line:
She was referring to the phrase “Cut on the Bais” which should say “bias.” But as the thread went along, astute Peas began finding more and more problems with this single sheet of Basic Grey scrapbook paper. It would be sad if it weren’t so freakin’ funny. Jeez.
– “cut along the the dotted line” with “the” twice
– “fulness” with one L
– “throed” instead of thread
Did I miss any? I’m on a laptop so it’s hard to read the fine print.
All of this reminded me of other typos in scrapbook products, like these from TERESA COLLINS “Butterfly” paper from the “Tell Your Story” collection:
– “because of you have lived” (top right)
– “it is never to late” (middle left)
– bad punctuation throughout
And THEN there was this one by MY MIND’S EYE, from the Indie Chic line:
ETA 11/08/12: Found some more!
From the WRMK “Friends Furever” line, paper called “Furry Friends” … see if you can find it :)
“A house is not a home without dog.” Hee.
“Glitter Lucky Lime” paper from the “Heat Wave” collection by AMERICAN CRAFTS
Do you wear “sandles” to the beach?
This one is more challenging … from “Arizona” paper by the STAMPING STATION:
“Sendona” in the purple section … should be Sedona. SUPPOSEBLY there are other typos in that one but I don’t know Arizona well enough to catch any of them. If you see any others, please let me know in Comments.
It’s mostly been papers so far but here is a flaw in the “Sports” design cartridge for Slice by MAKING MEMORIES:
That one made me literally LOL . . . FOUR!!
And here is a stamp set with a minor apostrophe issue – that would probably only bug the truly picky. From the “Nauti-Cool” set by WILSON DESIGNS STAMPS:
“Fathers Day” is missing one.
Here are 3 more in a stamp set by the same company! From “Gnomebody Like You”:
Maybe they sell a little apostrophe stamp separately and you’re just supposed to insert “you’re” own where appropriate?
Here’s some more paper . . . CRATE PAPER “June” from the “Portrait” collection:
It’s “Janurary” now, is it?
According to a Pea, the online version of this American Crafts “Soho Garden” chipboard is correct:
But the one she bought at an LSS says “I am Home When I am”. Wow, so existential! {Thanks Tina!}
How about this one from STUDIO CALICO‘s “Classic 3 Alpha Sheet”?
I guess it’s fine as long as you don’t need to spell “December Daily” or “Dead as a Doornail” or “Delightfully Delicious” ;)
{Thanks to Ann from CALI CRAFTS for that one!}
Here’s another one . . . from the DCWV “Guy Stack”.
It says “COUCH” instead of “COACH”. Like Patti said, “I think this one by DCWV might be a Freudian slip by some disgruntled wife.” Ha!
ETA 11/09/12: I’m adding some more. Thanks for telling me about them everyone! I still can’t believe there are so many . . .
MY MIND’S EYE “Christmas” die cuts from the “Lost and Found” line:
Ah, the lovely month of . . . Decemeber??
From the “Note to Self” line from ECHO PARK, the “Quotes” paper has a frequent pet peeve of grammar girls . . .
SHIMELLE did such a good job of explaining it, I’m just going to quote her:
It’s versus its drives me absolutely batty, so this paper sets my teeth on edge.
(If ‘it’s’ has an apostrophe, it is ALWAYS ‘it is’. The possessive of its is just like his and hers, which is not hi’s and her’s. It’s such a common error that I know I should just get over it, but instead, it glares more and more at me! I also have nightmares about making the mistake myself just because it bothers me so much, and especially with autocorrect it is easy to make.)
ETA 06-22-13: As Andrea in Comments pointed out, “There’s another typo on that Echo Park ‘Note to Self’ paper – ‘Your Guess Is As Good Mine’ is missing another ‘as.’ Good pull, Andrea!
I have to admit I probably would’ve missed this one from OCTOBER AFTERNOON‘s “Rocket Age” word stickers:
Near the bottom is a strip that says “Into the Great Unkown” . . . Thanks for the tip, zonefan!
ETA 06-22-13: Shelly49 at Two Peas pointed this out … “In the strip at the very bottom that says ‘Thats one small step…’ Should be That’s.” Thanks!
And in Comments, Ellen says, “I think October Afternoon’s ‘Rocket Age’ has another error. I believe ‘Wiz Kid’ is a wizard child. ‘Whiz Kid’ is an intelligent or smart child.”
Here’s some interesting paper from CP’s “Fourteen” line:
Aw, CRATE PAPER, another one? I mean, TWO? The months of the year really seem to trip up these manus, don’t they? {Thanks Elise!}
ETA 12-15-12: Just found another one in an e-mail I got for a sale ;)
In the Giant Rhinestone Kit from “Cashmere Dame” by GLITZ DESIGN …
Shouldn’t it be HUBBA HUBBA? {I’m pronouncing this is “hugh-buh hugh-buh”}. Such a bummer because I would’ve bought those otherwise. I love all their stuff … it’s so purdy. Oh, and there were typos in the e-mail, too ;)
ETA 02-09-13: Had to do a whole ‘nother post about THIS ONE because it hit so close to home :(
ETA 03-24-13: Oh noes! My fave company let another one through … from Simple Stories new line “24/7”:
Thanks threecs! Ironically, “picture” is spelled correctly here … and then not.
ETA 05-03-13: MAMBI made a big OOPS on their pocket page cards – but they tried to make it right. See all the deets HERE.
ETA 05-17-13: PennyPaws at TwoPeas posted this recently:
Pebbles’ Lakeside Collection “Summer Camp”, and the B side has different categories like “Food”, “Crafts”, First Aid”, etc… It has a box with “Troup #” written in it… Thinking they meant “troop”.
Thanks for taking a photo of that, PennyPaws! I couldn’t find an image online anywhere, even Pebbles own website ;)
ETA 05-21-13: According to a Pea in THIS THREAD, there are even more mistakes being found in the MAMBI cards but I don’t have specifics or pictures, sorry :(
ETA 06-22-13: Now it’s Carta Bella’s turn for a typo. This one is on their “Well Played” border strips paper:
In the 4th row from the top and on the very bottom strip is the same quote from Charles M. “Shultz” … whose last name was in fact spelled “Shulz.”
Little personal note on this one: My mom actually met Mr. Shulz back in the 1970s when he came through her workplace; she worked for a man who would later become President of the US :) She grabbed a piece of scrap paper from the copier and Mr. Shulz drew a Snoopy for her little son, my brother (I was still a twinkle in my parents’ eyes at that point). Many years later after he passed away, my mom donated that drawing to the CHARLES M. SHULZ Museum and Research Center. Cool, huh?
ETA 06-22-13: Now I’m going to catch up on other typos that have been sent to me but haven’t been added to this post yet. You guys have been SO great about sending me the typos and errors you find in scrapbooking products. Please keep them coming! I love to include links to your blogs, Twitter, or whatever else you like – so include those too, please. Okay, here we go …
From an American Crafts “Remarks” pack (I’m not sure which line?), you can go over the “mountians.” How do you pronounce that? Moun-chins?
And from a WRMK “Cristmas” paper … (ETA 04-01-14: My own ‘WMRK’ typo fixed!)
Glitz Design is represented again, with a stamp set from their “Yours Truly” line … or should I say “Your’s Truly”?
Thanks Shane_Marie from Two Peas! I love your post: “Unless Glitz were wanting to be mind-bendingly philosophical: can a possession be possessive? Or possessiveness possess? Or…
Nah, it’s just a typo ;) ”
This one isn’t a typo or error per se but maybe unintended scrap-p*rn from Basic Grey? It’s an image in their True Love Collection “Kissing Tree” paper. Usually my mind is firmly in the gutter, but I would never have noticed this one!
So I’m glad that Heather is an observant one. Check out her hilarious BLOG ENTRY for the full story.
Pink Paislee “Snow Day” Bitty Blocks alphas – do you see what’s missing?
Let’s just say it’s a good thing there are plenty of d’s that you can turn upside-down. Sheesh. Thanks for that one, AndreaK from Two Peas!
Crate Paper is back. Below in Comments, Alyssa says there’s a typo in their Portrait line “Accent Cuts” sheet with “Administration” misspelled.
This is the largest image I can find and on my laptop screen, I can’t see the error but hope you can!
Patrice in Comments pointed out this one by Bo Bunny. On their “We The People” paper, it says United STATE of America.
I guess one state WOULD be really united with itself, huh?
I think this is Project Life’s first entry into the typo game. It’s from the “Midnight” edition:
Thanks Melissa for finding the image on Instagram! If anyone knows whose pic that is, please let me know … I’d love to credit them.
Pebbles Inc. “Family Ties” line has a typo in their Journaling and Phrase Cards:
On the top right, it should say WE’RE not WERE. Thanks Just Me the Pea! You also mentioned another error in the MAMBI cards but I don’t have a pic of it:
“In the MAMBI PL card set, think it is called ‘A Kid’s Life’. I remember one of the typos was something like ‘things I like play with’. ACK I wish I had it in front of me. But I know it was a typo because two of the cards said that and two other cards said “things I like TO play with” so I knew the other 2 cards were wrong.”
I almost hate to mention that Crate Paper has yet ANOTHER typo. It’s from an older line “Farmhouse” and the paper is called “Apple Pie”.
JESS AMAZING did such a good job explaining and providing an image, I’ll let her do the talking (copied from her post on Two Peas):
“I have another one for you! It’s older, but Crate Paper’s ‘Apple Pie’ paper had a numbered ledger design featuring the number 23 twice. I was so annoyed when I found this, after having taken the time to cut & adhere perfectly so as to use it for an actual list. Fortunately, it was a list of 25 so I just layered a sticker over the last few numbers. Annoying”
From the Dear Lizzy “Little Trinket” paper from the “Lucky Charm” line, we have repeated use of the word “vingtage”. Oy.
Thanks for the tip, leisa77!
Here’s another one from my fave company, Simple Stories. It’s on one of the Title Strip Elements papers in the “Summer Fresh” line. Here’s the paper – but you can’t see the error here – it’s covered:
If you go to the Simple Stories blog HERE, you can scroll down and see the error. (I can’t copy the image here because it includes ALL of those papers and is rather large).
“The typed quote strip reads, ‘Let us lay in the sun and count every beautiful thing we see.’ The verb they wanted was ‘lie,’ not ‘lay.’ Probably not a typo so much as a common grammar flub.”
Thanks tsabhira from Two Peas!
In Comments, Jill pointed out some problems with the 7 Gypsies “Postale” line. On the “Priority” paper, the oh-so-important word PRIORITY is spelled PRIORTY. Oopsie!
This one isn’t a typo on the product itself but the packaging. It’s on the enamel dots from the MME “Find Your Wings and Fly” collection.
I mean the acrylic stamps. I mean the enamel dots. Jeesh, I’m so confused! {Thanks Stephanie!}
KBPea pointed out this one, from a WRMK tag:
Which is kinda’ freaky-deaky because in a post I wrote earlier today (before I saw this tag posted) that will post Monday AM, I wrote about how I just learned that I’ve been spelling y’all wrong for years and years. Am I the only one (well, other than WRMK) who’s been spelling it wrong? LOL
ETA 09/08/13: Time to add a few more I’ve been told about . . .
From a paper in the Studio Calico “Snippets” line. Notice anything missing?
Rebecca from the HOW I BURB blog points out, “They must not like Halloween” :)
ETA 01-25-14: As noted by Joyatee, Sherrie and Melissa Kaye in Comments, they also spelled “Janurary” incorrectly. Two mistakes in one paper.
From the Project Life “Honey” edition, again – something is missing here. A couple of somethings, in fact.
Thanks to Audrey, who tipped me off in Comments below!
I actually have this “Mother’s Day” album kit from WRMK but my friend Abby is the one who pointed out the error, and sent me this great pic with the cool arrow :)
C’mon, WRMK. “Your” SURE you proofread that? Bwahahahaha!
How about this one {maybe kinda’ two} from Studio Calico’s “Storytime – Baby Boy” line?
Here’s the pic provided by the vendor. Some think that the way “To the Moon & Back” is written looks more like “The To Moon & Back” and I tend to agree. I know it’s ‘art’ but it’s hard to read.
Here’s the typo though in the actual item sent out.
CUTE
BABY
GIRL???
What the hay? Shouldn’t the entirely blue sheet have been an indicator that it should say BOY??? {Thanks TAMMI!}
ETA 10-14-13: Fellow Pea Valerie mentioned this one . . . “It’s” a problem with the “Good Tidings” Frame Tags by Chic Tags.
Seems like “it’s” often those apostrophes that are throwing people off. It is = it’s.
ETA 01-21-14: Thank you to LINDA in Comments for pointing out this one from PINK PAISLEE:
The alphabet on the left has no “W” stickers! Guess you’d better not plan on doing a layout about Winter Wonderland :)
ETA 01-25-14: Mentioned on Two Peas was an error in one of the 3×4 cards in the new Project Life CORAL set, which I happened to have so I took a photo:
Before my coffee, it does feel like a morning “rountine” sometimes :P Gennifer posted: “My friend is the one who designed that kit. IIRC, she caught the error and corrected it before they were printed, but somehow the original file was mistakenly sent instead of the corrected one.” How frustrating that must be.
I’ll call this one a wobbler. The Peas were debating whether there’s a typo or misspelling in this sticker sheet from “Family Traditions” by Webster’s Pages:
Do you think “cooky” is an okay alternate spelling of “kooky” or is that misspelled?
Thanks to patowle at Two Peas for pointing this one out – from My Minds Eye “The Sweetest Thing” Tiny Word Stickers:
I wonder if MME has caught the “engergetic” error yet; it’s still posted on their website with the misspelling.
ETA 06-03-14: A popular online scrapbook store sent out an e-mail today offering this sticker sheet for only 1 cent – whoo hoo!
Wait, what? Paying full price for this would be like a ‘firecraker’ blowing up in your face, eh? {Guess we figured out why it’s such a great deal, ha!}
Thank you to sweet scrapper TinkGumby (Maria) for sharing this one (: (: (:
ETA 08-01-15:
The first one is in this WRMK Albums Made Easy journal card pack:
Wha’ HAPPEND?!?
Oh dear.
Thanks for the tip-off for that one, Liana!
The second one is from a Teresa Collins “Save the Date” 12×12 paper called “The Details.”
“Your my best friend” fer sure.
Thanks, katyscrap!
The next 2 errors are from a brand new collection by Echo Park called “Teacher’s Pet” …
I don’t think the proofreader made the “honor role” in school :P
And this one from the same line is a misquote instead of a typo:
As you can see from the book cover, the correct quote should include “you’ll” as opposed to “you will.”
Credit goes to Laura for finding these two.
*************
What do you think about all of these errors in scrapbooking products? Annoying? Unconscionable? Or “oh well”?
Personally, they drive me crazy. Yes, transcriptionist and English major here so I notice things that maybe others wouldn’t. But even if typos didn’t generally bug me, I’m paying for a product and expect it to be proofread, for gosh sakes.
Is it due to economic hardships for the companies, fewer employees, can’t afford the time to proofread? What? I find it ironic – if that is even the case – that there is a whole world of scrapbookers out here who would LOVE to proof new products and would even do it for FREE. C’mon, scrapbook companies, I’m here for ya’!!
So tell me your thoughts on the matter even IF* you’re just “meh” about it all. And let me know of other scrapbook product typos you’ve come across. I’ll post them here :)
*Typo fixed! Was there only one in this whole post!?! LOL
ETA 01-04-14: Another typo fixed :P
I’ve been hearing lately about how – surprisingly – discount department store TJ MAXX sometimes has scrapbook supplies in stock. We just got one of these stores in our area so I thought I’d check it out.
Figuring the scrap stuff would be in the home decor section, I headed to the back of the store. Okay, I may have been distracted for a bit by the shoe section … and the yummy-smelling-lotion section. But I soon got back on track ;)
Alas, there were no scrapbook supplies to be found. There were cards, art supplies, picture frames, and photo albums … so I figured I was in the right place … just out of luck. I did some clothes shopping for the kids and went to check out.
And wouldn’t you know: In the cattle chute where you wait for “the next available cashier” … they had scrapbook supplies! There wasn’t a huge selection but I did pick up some “Dear Lizzy” embellishments and some Thickers by AMERICAN CRAFTS. The prices were great so I’ll definitely check out TJ Maxx in the future for scrapbook supplies.
I wanted to let you know so if you think your TJ Maxx doesn’t carry scrapbook supplies … make sure to check the cattle chute :)
Word on the street is that BIG LOTS has THICKERS again. I found them the other day, along with a few other cool things.
This is a Basic Grey’s “Do Me a Favor” favor boxes from the Eskimo Kisses line.
Here’s the “official” product photo which shows what’s on the other side of the package, with the favors this kit makes. It retails for about $7 and I got for $1 … that’ll work.
I don’t plan to make favor boxes ~ have no use for them ~ but I figured for a buck, I could use just the flower, heart, and journaling box punch-outs in my scrapbooking.
Here is a varsity-style sticker alpha by American Crafts. You could use these on sports, cheerleading, or high school pages. Again, you can’t go wrong for $1, right?
Ah, the target of my search: THICKERS! They were $2 a pack vs. the usual $4-5. That’s why I love stocking up at Big Lots on my favorite alphabet stickers. I decided to get more than one pack of the black font since it’s so cute and different yet versatile.
Don’t ask me what I’m going to do with a whole set of green glitter NUMBERS because I have no flippin’ idea … but but but … I got caught up in the Thickers Frenzy and just grabbed one of each that they had. Without thinking. Or using any discernment or judgment. Or common sense.
Ah, what the hell. It was only 2 bucks.
Here’s some darling Dear Lizzy and KI Memories chipboard stickers. Now that the rain has finally stopped and the sun is out, I’m itching to use these spring-y and summer-y colors.
All this writing about Big Lots finds reminded me that I’ve never shown you pics from my last shopping trip there a few weeks ago.
I just can’t get over their prices. I don’t care that this stuff is “so last year” or whatever. I enjoy seeing what the trends are but they don’t impact my scrapping one iota. If I like something and it’s cute, I use it. So I’m going to have fun with this “old” stuff.
I bought the “Woodhaven” paper pack because it’s such a good match to the colors in my scrapbook area. I’m thinking of either framing some of the pretty papers as is, or framing some layouts made with them.
I also found these storage cubes made of fabric that uses similar colors.
Here is one of the papers held up next to the bins on my shelves. The colors aren’t an exact match but they’ll do. And I love the birdie designs … so pretty.
So that’s my last two trips to Big Lots. I think my favorite finds are the Woodhaven papers and the Thickers, of course.
The new MEMORY WORKS catalogs came out recently and I needed to order some. What a perfect excuse to “not let that shipping cost go to waste” and buy some scrapbook pretties for myself.
Here’s everything fresh out of the box.
From left to right …
Memory Works 2010 Fall Catalog: I love how they featured SIMPLE STORIES on the cover. It has been a big seller so, as a Memory Works Consultant, I appreciate it being featured so prominently.
FANCY PANTS “TRADITIONS” RUB-ONS: I have to admit I pretty much bought these because of the blue bird holding the ornament. I just couldn’t resist that image for some reason.
AMERICAN CRAFTS CARDSTOCK SWATCH BOOK: Memory Works used to sell only Prism cardstock, then made the switch to American Crafts CARDSTOCK. I think it’s been a good switch. The AC cardstock is thicker and has that great linen texture like BAZZILL. I also like the wide ranging color choices we have, and all the packs of mixed or single colors.
AMERICAN CRAFTS “ROBIN EGG” THICKERS: These are chipboard and super cute with the tiny white polka dots on them. They’ll be great for spring or Easter layouts.
RANGER “GLOSSY ACCENTS”: I love using this on embellishments to “bring them to the next level.” They make everything look so much more special, kwim? Like on my recent “Wicked” layout … I painted some naked chipboard Thickers with black acrylic paint but then they looked so flat. Put on some Glossy Accents and ~ VOILA!~ lookin’ good!
{Forgive the wavy look, LOL! I took the pic while the letters were drying. Once they were dry, I tacked that ribbon down to the page with sticky tape :)}
So that’s my latest Memory Works haul. If you’d like to purchase any of these items or check all the other scrapbook eye candy we carry, just check out MY WEBSITE and let me know if you have any questions. You can leave a comment here, or e-mail me: scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com. Have a great week!
I’ve been talking about the latest line produced by Memory Works as a follow up to their hugely successful Simple Stories “Life Documented” line … the new kit is a quick and easy way to complete school layouts or an entire School Days album and it’s called Simple Stories “ele.ment.ary.”
It was originally slated for release this coming Monday, 8-16-10. I was offline a bit this week and came on tonight (late Thursday) to discover …. they changed the release to tomorrow! ACK!
*** “ele.ment.ary” will be available on my website (https://erika.memory-works.com) as of Friday, 8-13-10 at 8am EST (which is 5am my time aka PST) ***
HERE is a link to the SImple Stories catalog, which shows all the elements and prices for the “Life Documented” and “ele.ment.ary” lines. Take a look at tell me what you think :) There are free “ele.ment.ary” digital downloads and tons of inspiration for using the kit HERE.
I’ll be online processing orders/pre-orders from about 5 to 7am PST tomorrow … erm, today. LOL. If you have any questions or would like to place an order, that would be a wonderful time to do so. Then again, I’m happy to help you at ALL times, my dearies. Just go check out my WEBSITE and/or send me an e-mail … scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com.
In addition to the excitement over SIMPLE STORIES “ele.ment.ary,” we’re also having a big “clear ’em out for new CHA stuff” sale.
{Well, it’s not officially called that, I just made it up because it was so uber-descriptive …}
Anyway, here are the discounts going on right now … get ’em while they last!

As I mentioned HERE, the new Memory Works catalog is out for Spring 2010, along with a lot of the new scrapbooking items from CHA-Winter 2010. As soon as I heard the catalogs were out, I placed an order right away and, as always, it arrived within just a few days.
I’m gonna share pics of everything I ordered so you can see what it REALLY looks like, K?
My favorite part … opening the box … it’s so fun! Here are the catalogs right on top, and a peek at the embellies I ordered.
In case you’d like to order a catalog (how to do that is HERE), I thought I’d show you some sample pages of what it looks like inside.
Here are the pages for DEAR LIZZY by AMERICAN CRAFTS, and a company that’s new to Memory Works called GIRLS PAPERIE. I’m so excited to have them on board. Their products are very cute. I’ll have to do a separate post about them later.
Here’s two of the pages showing our new SIMPLE STORIES products that have been amazingly popular.
Here’s a line that’s going to BE very popular, I’m sure: BASICS* by BASIC GREY.
*Basics is not released yet so it will currently show Out of Stock at the above link, but it’ll show as available as soon as it’s in stock. Not too much longer, I think!
Okay, now the fun goodies. Here’s the Dear Lizzy premium RIBBON including that adorable rose ribbon that I’ve been dying to have.
These are the front and back sides of the “Dear Lizzy” THEME SET.
I got these “Flower Child” FLOWERS by BO BUNNY to use with my Simple Stories album; the colors will coordinate very well. I ordered an extra to sell at crops. I love how they’re embossed which kind of gives them a rounded petal, and the dark red large flower is such a deep red, it’s gorgeous.
Here are the “Green at Heart” RUB-ONS by BASIC GREY. They are definitely prettier in person; the colors are bright but not super, blind your eyes bright, kwim?
These are “DELIGHT LEAF” Thickers by American Crafts, and they’re made of fabric.
I tried to take a closer photo with my iPhone to show you the texture, but it doesn’t look like I succeeded. {I finally ordered my new camera and should have it in a week or so. I can’t WAIT!}
Here is the “Kioshi” THEME SET by Basic Grey. The colors are SO amazing in person! This reminds me of the Old School BG that I knew and loved. {Front and back sides}.
Finally, the piece de resistance, all the MAMA-RAZZI line by BO BUNNY!!! I’ve been talking about Mama-razzi since way back HERE, so you can imagine how excited I was to get all this.
I got two packs of the LAYERED STICKERS; one for me, one to sell. Also, the iCandy glazed BRADS.
The stickers are 3-D … :)
Here are both sides of the CUT-OUTS. I can’t believe they’re only $1. Think of all the mileage you can get out of this one sheet. I’m going to order another one, so I can use both sides. I can’t see any parts that I don’t want to use.
These are the COMBO STICKERS, where you get border stickers, regular stickers, AND an alpha. Pretty kewl.
Could this sheet of die-cut paper BE any prettier!?!? I don’t think so. Love it.
It comes from the THEME SET, the rest of which is below (front and back sides).
Oh, and just ‘cuz I love Bo Bunny, I got these “Roughin’ It” CUT-OUTS. Won’t they be cute for camping layouts? This is the front and back …
Okay, I hope you enjoyed the tour inside my Memory Works shipping box, LOL! I’m so excited to get all of it.
If you’d like to order anything from Memory Works, HERE is my website and HERE are some instructions. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com.
Squeee! I’m SO excited! The new scrapbook items from CHA Winter 2010 have been rolling in to my Memory Works WEBSITE. I’ve been posting about some of them but not all. Here is what we have so far:
AMERICAN CRAFTS including Dear Lizzy, new Thickers, awesome new adhesives, and our NEW line of AC CARDSTOCK! (see my post HERE for the Dear Lizzy)
BO BUNNY Mamarazzi, Sophie, Flower Child, Paradise, and Roughin It (See my post about Mamarazzi HERE and you KNOW I’m so stinkin’ excited about that one! I already have 2 of each item in my shopping cart … 1 for me, 1 to sell :)
COSMO CRICKET Garden Variety, Material Girl, Joyride, and Tiny Type alphas (I blogged about them HERE)
JENNI BOWLIN Vintage Buttons and Embellished Butterflies
MY LITTLE SHOEBOX Flying High, Away We Go, Just Add Butter, and All Aflutter (What a great company! They’re completely new to Memory Works and I’m loving all the bright, fun colors)
MY MINDS EYE Jack and Jill, Little Boy Blue, and Little Miss Muffet. We also have all the “Lush” lines … Black Lush, Red Lush, Pink Lush, Brown Lush, Blue Lush, and Green Lush.
TERESA COLLINS BeBe Boy, BeBe Girl, Mr. and Mrs., and Welcome Home
THREE BUGS IN A RUG Great Outdoors, Savannah, Little Chick, and Animal Stackers
*If an item says Out of Stock, that just means it hasn’t arrived in the warehouse yet but is on the way. Please try back soon. If you’re waiting on something specific, e-mail me { scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com } and I can notify you when it arrives. Most consultants don’t do that, but I DO because I respect your scrapbook jones like no one else does :)
Okay, all of THAT is exciting enough, right?!?! I mean, MAMARAZZI people! Remember when I hoped so badly that Memory Works would carry it and now they DO! I am SO going to find that class kit and make that adorable mini-album with it.
So today home office also released our new Spring 2010 catalog, like, WAY early! We usually don’t get them until late March/early April. I have .pdf downloads (they broke it up into 4 sections for faster download times) and will post those soon.
Better yet, you can order a REAL paper catalog from me and I’ll mail it to ya. {JINGLE, did those cupcakes catch your eye? They are throughout the cattie, LOL!}
Here’s what I’m gonna’ do … I’m going to order 10 catalogs today. They cost me $3 each, and to mail them out costs about $2-3 depending on how far they’re going. Honestly, it’s always been a big money loser for me because I spend about $5 per sent catalog. I just can’t afford to do that anymore, I’m sorry :( But if you would like a catalog (and believe me, you do ~ they are SO pretty in person!), please e-mail me { scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com } and let me know. I’ll invoice you $4 via Paypal and send it right out. Sound fair? That’s a great price for such a nice piece of eye candy, and way cheaper than those “other” direct sales companies charge, am I right?
Okay, so all this just totally made my day. Let me know if you’d like a catalog or for me to “scrap watch” any items for you. Also, you can order HERE any of the above fabulous new items, not to mention all the existing products we have :)
Whoo hoo! Just got an e-mail from Memory Works saying that all the American Crafts “Dear Lizzy” papers have arrived. See my last blog entry for more details and all the eye candy …
I haven’t heard excitement over a new line like this for a while. It’s called “Dear Lizzy” by American Crafts and it’s the talk of the message boards and blogs. So happy to find out that MEMORY WORKS now carries it!
Before we get down to that, let’s talk about ELIZABETH KARTCHNER, the designer of this new line. Let me lay it down for ya’ …
~ Elizabeth Kartchner is also know as Lizzy K.
~ She was CREATING KEEPSAKES magazine’s “Scrapbooker of the Year” in 2007.
~ She is a wonderful photographer, has an adorable and fun family, and one of the greatest blogs around (I linked it above).
~ In November 2009, her idea book came out; it’s called “52 MORE SCRAPBOOKING CHALLENGES” {a follow-up to “52 Scrapbooking Challenges” by Elsie Flannigan, both published by Creating Keepsakes … make sense?}. Here’s another LINK to it.
~ She partnered with AMERICAN CRAFTS on a scrapbooking line which was introduced at CHA-Winter 2010, and Lizzy has started a LIZZY K CRAFTS blog to keep us in the loop about it.
And honestly, could she BE any prettier? Funny and cute, too :)
HERE and HERE are looks at the line from when American Crafts showed their sneak peeks of it prior to CHA. I’ve been drooling over it ever since, and am thrilled that the time has come to buy some!
Here are a couple layouts showing what you can do with the Dear Lizzy line …

Do we all want that rose ribbon or what???
Shipments from this line are just coming in to Memory Works, and some items are not “in stock” yet on the website. However, I’m going to list them all in this post anyway because I’m sure everything will be here soon :) Besides, TOTAL EYE CANDY!
If you click on BUY IT, you’re not committed or anything, LOL! It just links you to the item on my MW website so you can see the price and if it’s in stock.

So, are you a fan of Elizabeth Kartchner’s? What do you think of her new line? Ya gonna buy* or “wish list” any of it? Here’s my Top 5:
1. Theme set … I need a little bit o’ all those papers.
2. “Lovely” ribbons … Got to have that rose ribbon fo’ sho’.
3, Thickers “Bliss” chipboard accents … Love that they are glittered.
Oh, and both sets of Thicker letters, of course, but those are a given, a staple, a ‘must have so why bother wish-listing it’ kind of item.
* Truly, NO pressure whatsoever to buy it from me {Go LSS! Go 2peas! I support them all!}, but if you’re planning to, don’t wait too long. I have a feeling it will sell out fast. If the listing says “Out of Stock,” it means we haven’t gotten it from the vendor yet. Once it’s sold out, the listing will disappear. Let me know if you have any questions: scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com K, bye!
