All 3 items with tax (and free shipping) were only $11.26 total.
I did notice that Joann.com had a 50-cent markup on the retail price for both of the MAMBI items . . . interesting. But I got them on sale so nanner nanner!
I wanted the whole collection kit of the Jillibean – super cute mini alpha included . . .
. . . but that put me over my limit so I just got the paper pack.
I need WRMK albums and would’ve splurged on those but they only have like 5 colors and none of the ones I need. I hear they’re doing a re-packaging or something so everyone has very low stock on them right now :( But they may have the color(s) you need so check it out!
One of my favorite sources of online learning – CREATIVE LIVE – has scrapbooking-related classes from their Craft & Maker series on sale RIGHT HERE to celebrate National Craft Month.
Up to 40% off from March 16 – 22, 2015!
Several of them are digital scrapbooking-related which isn’t my groove but maybe it’s yours, or you want to learn more about it. I will say that one of the digi instructors, Traci Reed, is a great teacher. I’ve taken classes from her during TRUE SCRAP events, like her class for TRUE SCRAP: POCKET PAGES
If you’re more of a traditional (aka paper) scrapbooker like me, you might want to check out these sale classes:
Becky Higgins – Scrapbooking with Project Life
Lain Ehmann – Scrapbook Your Story
Nicole Samuels – Scrapbooking Your Baby’s First Year
Megan Hoeppner – From App to Archive: Social Media Scrapbooking
I’ve taken all of these online classes when they were in free preview mode and LOVED each one! Creative Live does a high-class job and the instructors are at the top of their game, sharing loads of information, giving real life examples from themselves and live audience members, and the classes are nice and long – totally worth the cost, especially with the discount pricing right now.
I think my favorite of the 4 classes above was Becky’s. Yes, I’m biased right now toward Project Life style/pocket page scrapbooking but that wasn’t it; it was how open Becky was about her history in the scrapbooking industry, the behind-the-scenes stories about the business end of PL, how lines are created, how she uses PL in her real life, and how emotional and honest she got – even to the point of tears at times. I can’t say I learned a TON of new things about Project Life but I learned more about Becky and scrapbooking in general that made me love both of them even more (is that frickin’ possible??!?! LOL).
Because these classes are nice and long, any of them would be great to be like your Scrapbooking TV, playing during your scrap sessions :) They don’t run sales that often so I’m happy to see this. Hope you find something you like!
PS: While you’re at CREATIVE LIVE, check out THIS cool blog post about 5 inspiring scrapbookers and enter THIS contest on Instagram for the chance at an amazing prize!
Hiya, Scrappy Shoppers! Around Thanksgiving is one of the best times of the year to shop. Here is why:
1. Christmas is coming and you know you can’t trust anyone to buy you exactly the scrapbook items you want.
2. SALES!!
You can get crazy-good deals and I’m going to help you. Here’s a list of online and big box scrapbooking, stamping, and craft sales. Please check back often ‘cuz I’ll add and update new deals as I find them.
There are other sales I heard about but didn’t list because I went to the site and could find NO evidence of a sale. Note to stores: If you’re going to have a sale, for gosh sakes, don’t make me hunt all over your site for it! I even tried the Search box on a few of them and typing in Black Friday brought up nada. Silly, silly rabbits . . .
If you know of other deals, please share them in Comments! And, more importantly, let me know what you (or Santa) bought! And, like I said, stay tuned because I’ll be adding to this list in coming days . . .
1. HSN.com will have some scrapbooking shows on starting either tonight or tomorrow, depending upon your time zone. I’m in PST and the first show is 09-01-14 at 11pm. HERE is the program guide.
2. If you like to stock up on the Big Pack of Design A (60 Pages) for Project Life or pocket page scrapping, there is a killer deal on them right now. I last paid $30 for these but as of now they’re only $8.36 and free shipping with Prime. Hurry, Amazon changes their prices with no notice!
3. A last reminder to check out the Labor Day Weekend scrapbook shopping deals I posted HERE. There’s still time to shop!
There are also some great products by WRMK on sale. You can use them in regular scrapping but they’re also perfect for Project Life-type scrapbooking.
This corner rounder 3×4 punch is perfect for making quick and easy pocket-page scrapping cards of your own. I’ve heard of people using them to punch all of their scraps. Great idea! You get rid of that paper scraps pile that makes you feel guilty every time you look at it, and you end up with a stack of 3×4 rounded cards out of papers that you obviously love. You can also use this punch on your photos.
Earlier this week, they were down to $14.99 but even at $22.10 and adding one other product to get that $35, the free shipping is still a good deal. A pack of 50 page protectors is pretty heavy and I doubt you can find free shipping on that at many other places.
Finally, check out this great price on the WRMK Multi-Pack!
They’re an Add-On item which means you have to make another purchase but I hope I’ve provided enough enabling above to make that easy ;) If you’re a pocket-page scrapper like me – or have been wanting to give it a try – check out this great Project Life and WRMK sale on AMAZON!
ETA 07-27-14: Whoo hoo, an even better deal on the Multi-Pack!
As you know, Amazon prices fluctuate sometimes by the minute so get over there and catch a deal before it’s gone :)
PS: Have you heard how AMERICAN CRAFTS is buying up a lot of other scrapbooking companies? Yep, since 2009 they’ve acquired Pebbles Inc, Imaginesce, Pink Paislee, Heidi Swapp, Bazzill, and WRMK and have licensing deals for Project Life and Studio Calico.
Anyhoo, the concern that always comes up among scrappers chatting online is whether the quality of the existing products we know and love will continue. Will Bazzill cardstock continue to be thick, have lovely colors, and a variety of textures (especially since American Crafts already has their own brand of cardstock)?
As someone who faithfully uses WRMK 12×12 “leather” albums, I worry that the quality of these amazing albums will change now that American Crafts has aquired them. And I’m not alone; there’s been somewhat of a buying frenzy of existing WMRK albums “just in case” the quality starts to go sideways. It’s like we’re preparing for a SCRAPOCOLYPSE!
If that’s a worry of yours too, I wanted to point out that Amazon also has the WRMK 12×12 albums in several colors on sale. They normally run $29.99 and the sale prices range (at this exact minute) from $17.99 for Aqua, $20.99 for Charcoal, etc. {Ooooh, Aqua and Charcoal …. don’t those colors look great together?? I can picture them lined up on my bookshelf. Puuurrrdddyyyy. Oh shoot, sidetracked – sorry!}
K, I’m really leaving now. I just thought of the WRMK album thing and it made this post really long – ha! Hey, at least it’s Sunday. Hopefully, you have a few extra minutes today :)
It’s time for another Santa Sack Sale by one of my favorite companies, OCTOBER AFTERNOON!
Week 1 begins 11-11-13 and there is one per week for 5 weeks, continuing into December 2013. I know that in past years, scrappers have bought all 5 Santa Sacks. Man, it must’ve been crowded under their Christmas trees {she said, extremely jealously … }
They’re also offering a Stamp Sack beginning 12-16-13. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the Stamp Sack is a first this year. Great news for all you stampers! OA has some wicked cute stamp sets.
I blogged about a past Santa Sack Sale HERE. If you’d like to see what kinds of things were in past Santa Sacks, there are tons of videos on YouTube.
I have to pass because I’ve been doing some other shopping lately, including a trip to HOBBY LOBBY while traveling. Will you buy an OA Santa Sack (or five) this year? Please do show us your loot if you!
Alas, I won’t be ordering one . . . don’t have $50 at the moment . . . too bad. I’ve really liked her recent stuff although the only thing I own is her VINTAGE CHIC line . . .
YAYYY!! The long-awaited and much-anticipated new lines from Simple Stories are here!!! I’ve been so anxious for these to come in, because they were certainly the talk of the town after the last CHA show. I’ve seen Handmade Holiday and Take a Hike in person and they are gorgeous! {I’m sure Harvest Lane is as well}.
You can see all the new lines HERE and order them right now HERE.
Please let me know if you have any questions: scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com.
You can easily place your order from my Memory Works WEBSITE. I’ll send you a Paypal invoice (or you can arrange to pay by check). Once payment has cleared, your items will ship directly to you from our Utah home office within 1-2 business days. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!
Also, now is a great time to check out my website because Memory Works is having a sale!
Out with the old…in with the new!
It’s that time again… to say good-bye to some of our old favorites as we say hello to our brand new product line up for Fall and Winter of 2012!
**Starting Wednesday, August 15, 2012 all items that will not be carried over into the next catalog will be discounted up to an additional 25% off**
This is good news for you! This is a great time for fantastic savings on some of your favorites from Bo Bunny, BasicGrey and My Minds Eye to Bella Blvd, Echo Park and even older Simple Stories collections.
And if you’re a MEMORY WORKS CONSULTANT like me, you get your usual 20% off PLUS the additional 25% from the warehouse sale. I’m no math major, but that sounds like a lot to me!!
So now would be a great time to sign up to be a consultant. Please check out my WEBSITE and see all the great products we carry, including SIMPLE STORIES, Basic Grey, My Minds Eye, Echo Park, and many more.
Just e-mail me and I can send you a worksheet that explains the 2 types of Memory Works Consultants. Both have very low sign-up fees, low or no minimums, and great flexibility with how you choose to run your business – from a hobbyist just buying for themselves to big business mogul :)
HERE is a .pdf with all the details. HERE it is on the Bella blog. Order by 04-30-12 for $37.99; order from 05-01 through 05-04-12 for $43.99. {I notice that the .pdf mentions the early bird price, but the blog doesn’t give specifics on it … so I’d check that .pdf linked above if you’re going to order}.
The ad says there is $125 worth of stuff so that sounds like quite the deal! I didn’t realize until I looked at their BLOG and WEBSITE that they had so many lines out. Wowzers, cute stuff.
I’m not going to order … mainly because I’ve been on a bit of a spree lately (yeah, that’s putting it lightly) and I need to chill, yo. But also because I don’t own any Bella Blvd to this point (say what???) and don’t know if I like their products enough to chance this.
But if you are a Bella fan, I say “go forth and shop, my friend!” So …. are ya’ gonna’?
ETA 04-18-12: Shout out to the PEAS! A poster pointed out that the e-mail address on the BB blog (at least as of the time I’m writing this) is missing an “L”.
I have more things to sell from my personal stash. HERE is the first post of sale items (Lots 1-8).
From last time, most lots have been sold … THANK YOU to my buyers! It has been a pleasure e-mailing with you. I hope you’re happy with your purchase.
Here is what is still available from that last post; some of the stamp lot was sold off so it’s now smaller with a smaller price:
LOT #1 (MODIFIED): ACRYLIC STAMPS AND CLEAR BLOCK $15 plus shipping
Retail value is about $60! All of these stamps are brand new, never been used, in the original packaging.
Autumn Leaves “Hand Drawn Alphabet by Katie Pertiet”.
This set retails for $25. I have it myself and use it often. It’s a very versatile font and is a great size for both cards and scrapbook layouts. Unlike a lot of stamp alphas, it includes both upper and lower case AND numbers with punctuation. At a $25 value, these stamps alone are worth $10 more than you’d pay for the entire lot of acrylic stamps with the block.
Autumn Leaves “Clear Stamps Acrylic Block”
Retails for $15. This is a solid acrylic block, 4×6″ in size, to be used with your acrylic stamps. If you’ve never used acrylic stamps, I’d be happy to walk you through it. I have this block myself and it’s the one I use the most, out of the many sizes I have, because you can lay out an entire word or title on it, or fit even the larger stamps on it (like THESE).
Autumn Leaves (8) various “Clear Stamps” that retail for $2 each, and Studio G (2) sets of “Clear Stamps” that retail for $1 each.
These are all stinkin’ adorable stamps, about $16 worth altogether.
ETA 9-1-10: The “You Are Here” stamp with arrow has been sold. I blew it. I thought I had a duplicate of it, so I sold it with another lot. What I do have duplicates of are (2) of the “Mini Make a Flower” (flowers with leaves) and (3) of the “carriage/baby.” Sorry for the mix-up!
So, that’s all of Lot #1: ACRYLIC STAMPS AND CLEAR BLOCK
$15 plus shipping
—————– LOT 3: KAREN FOSTER “CLIKIT” EYELET SETTING KIT $5
Retailed for $40. This item is gently used.
I bought it right after it came out at a CKU and fell in love with it. What a fun tool! You can read a bunch of reviews HERE. I used it a few times at the convention; that’s why you see white paper leftovers in the dual tip, LOL. Alas, I am a fickle tool girl, and quickly became fascinated with some other method or three for setting eyelets (“What a cool eyelet tool! I really like it. It works so … oh, look, shiny new tool over there!”).
All of the pieces, mat, instruction book, even the free eyelets are still intact. On the bottom of the box, I wrote my name and phone number in small print; it’s been blacked out with a Sharpie. Other than that, it’s like new.
—————-
Now, to add some new things to the mix!
—————- LOT 9: PIONEER 3-UP PHOTO ALBUMS, SET OF 6
$15 plus shipping *** RESERVED ***
These are 3-up “Space Saver” photo albums by Pioneer; 3- up means each page holds three 4×6 photos (or 6, depending on how you look at it, LOL!). There are 2 light blue, 2 beige, 1 black, and 1 green. They’re all brand new in package except one that I opened so I could show you the insides :)
Each album goes in a slim pocket case. They measure 13.5″ tall x 7.25″ wide x 7/8″ thick. They’re so slim, they would stack very neatly on a bookshelf. Here is the front view of the first 3 …
.. and the other 3.
This is the book out of the case and what the pages inside look like. The case is nice for keeping the dust and sun out, and protecting your photos. Plus, it helps them keep their “slim” shape :)
In the back, there are pages sized for holding negatives. On the right is a pocket for whatever you’d like: photo CDs, panoramic, 5×7, or other odd-sized photos, etc.
Scrapbook.com has only 1 of these in stock right now HERE. It would regularly sell for $5.99 and they have it on sale for $5.69. HERE you can get 6 of them for $4.25 each (or $25.50 total) plus some hefty shipping charges; wow! Anyway, I looked around and they generally sell for $4-6 each. At my price, you’re getting them for $2.50 each ($15 total plus shipping).
Here is the official description of these albums:
Pioneer Space Saver Photo Albums can help you create an ultra-compact photo library. Each Space Saver Photo Album contains 144 slip-in pockets that hold photos up to 4” x 6”.
Durable translucent plastic cover
Protective and convenient storage case
Plastic pockets securely protect photos
Index cover labels for easy organization
Includes four panoramic pages and negative storage pages
Photo safe: Archival, Acid and PVC free
ALI EDWARDS even recommends these albums … I mean, come ON!
========================
LOT 10: 3-UP ALBUMS BY PHOTO STOR, SET OF 2
$10 plus shipping
These albums are black “leather” with 3 slots in the covers for 3×3 photos. Each album has 50 pages with 6 slots on each to hold 4×6 photos. Each album can hold an amazing 300 photos, or 600 in both albums. That’s MAJOR! In the back are 3 pages to store CDs and photo index sheets. There is a tab closure and each page has blank lines where you can journal what’s in the photo (or cover up with pretty scrapbook paper, LOL!).
Both are brand new, in excellent condition. I can’t find these albums online anywhere. Believe me, I looked. I got them at Costco a while back and I think I paid $20 for the set. They’re great quality and definitely worth $20, but I’ll let them go for $10 plus shipping.
Here is the front cover and what the 4×6 pages look like …
… and this is the inside back cover where you can see the CD/index sheet pages, plus a groovy pouch to hold whatever you want … negative envelopes, larger photos, memorabilia, etc..
All of these 3-up albums would be wonderful for photo storage, as Ali uses them. Or you could go the STACY JULIAN route and use them for PHOTO ALBUM SCRAPBOOKING like she does! What a great way to scrapbook ALLLLL those great photos from a trip – get them done and off your computer, right?

I really just want these items to find a good home, so if you like something but the price isn’t right, make me an offer!
I’ve been organizing my scrapbook space yet again, and have been coming across things to sell. They are either gently used things of mine, or products I got to sell at my crops.
I’m selling everything well below what it’s worth because 1. I really want this stuff to go to a good home (wink), and 2. I know shipping is going to cost some and I want the overall price to still be affordable.
Okay, here we go …
===================================== LOT #1: ACRYLIC STAMPS AND CLEAR BLOCK $40 plus shipping
Retail value is about $100! All of these stamps are brand new, never been used, in the original packaging.
*If you love Studio G stamps, I have some older complete and incomplete sets. Stay tuned! I’ll list them soon :)
Autumn Leaves “Stitched Journaling Panels by Marianne Wise”
This set retails for $15 and is fabulous for journaling. I also have this set and use it quite often. All of the shapes look great on layouts and the stitching is so much cuter than plain, solid lines, don’t you think?
{NOTE: With just these first 2 items, we’re at the $40 I’m charging for the whole lot!}
Autumn Leaves “For the Record by Katie Pertiet”
These acrylic stamps retail for $15 and were super popular when I sold them for Memory Works in a past catalog. I can’t believe you get so many detailed stamps in one set. I use this one a lot also. The photo record stamp (2nd one down on lefthand side) would be so great to stamp on the back of your photos ~ especially the ones you don’t scrap ~ so you can remember the details of each picture.
Autumn Leaves “Clear Stamps Acrylic Block”
Yep, retails for $15 (seems to be a trend here, huh?).
Close to My Heart “My Acrylix Doodle Alphabet (D1242)” (retired)
This is a really cute alpha. My favorite thing is the cute little birdie in the lower right corner. I also love the curly frame in the upper left; that would be fun to use like a monogram, i.e. stamp the frame and then stamp a single letter in the middle of it.
Autumn Leaves (8) various “Clear Stamps” that retail for $2 each, and Studio G (2) sets of “Clear Stamps” that retail for $1 each.
These are all stinkin’ adorable stamps, about $16 worth altogether.
So, that’s all of Lot #1: ACRYLIC STAMPS AND CLEAR BLOCK
$40 plus shipping
========================================
LOT 2: BOTTLECAPS and JUNKITZ “ROUNDERS”
*** TAKEN ***
Probably about $5 retail
I just want them to go to a good scrapper’s home, LOL. I’ll throw them in for free if you make another purchase, or will mail them to you in a padded envelope for $3 to cover shipping. HERE is one of the rounders used with some ribbon for a flower center (layout by LESLIE ASHE).
=========================================
LOT 3: KAREN FOSTER “CLIKIT” EYELET SETTING KIT $5
=====================================
LOT 4: COLUZZLE “STARTER KIT” AND “TAGS” $5 plus shipping
Retails for $22. These items are brand new, still in original packaging.
*** RESERVED ***
HERE is the Starter Kit at Scrapbook.com for $9.99. HERE are some customer reviews. If you’ve never used a Coluzzle to cut shapes, I’m happy to explain it ~ super easy.
I’ve had a Cricut for a while now, and I know many people have all kinds of fancy die cutting machines now, but I still use my Coluzzles. I have all my templates handy in a drawer and it’s so much quicker and easier to pull them out sometimes than to get the Cricut going just for one or two shapes. I have quite a collection and you can find shapes other than these tags now for great deals. The tag template is perfect for making gift tags for birthdays and Christmas, and of course you can use them in your cardmaking and scrapbooking.
===============================
LOT 5: MEMORY STOR “HANDMADE PAPER-VELVET” $5 plus shipping
*** SOLD ***
Retails for $24. This is brand new, still in the package.
72 sheets of thick paper with velvet flocking in gorgeous colors and textures. The paper itself is surprisingly light in weight, so I don’t think it would be terribly expensive to ship. There are 12 designs with 6 of each design. These papers make unique and textural additions to your scrapbook layouts. Yes, I own this set of papers, too :) I’ve found the colors really easy to work with and so striking. Below are a few samples up close …
This is a dark aqua flocking design on a lighter aqua paper …
Black vine flocking on a white background …
My favorite … A delicate swirly pattern. I used this paper on some ATCs for a swap I did once. Just that little square of this paper made such a difference and set my ATCs apart from everyone else’s.
======================= LOT 6: CREATIVE MEMORIES “DECO FILE” with EXTRA FOLDERS $5 plus shipping
*** SOLD ***
Retails for roughly $20; not sure as it seems they don’t make this item anymore (?). This item is gently used.
When I bought this, I used it to sort my paper scraps. I love how it accordians out so you can easily see everything you’ve stored in it. The lot includes a pack of additional folder inserts; 3 have been inserted in the Deco File and 3 are still in the package. When the deco file is empty, the black elastic is a bit stretched out … although when it’s full, I doubt you’d notice. Also, you could easily replace the elastic, probably with something cuter than a plain black band anyway, LOL! HERE is a similar lot on Ebay for $27.99.
==========================
LOT 7: CREATIVE MEMORIES “CROP TALK” FLYERS *** Free plus shipping ***
*** TAKEN ***
These all came to me via a friend when she cleaned out her scrapping stuff. She attended Creative Memories workshops for years and had this good-sized stack of Crop Talks. They are older ones but kind of timeless. I could just throw them away, but I was wondering if there was a CM GIRL out there who would like them just for the cost of shipping. I’d mail them in a manila envelope and send Media Mail so it wouldn’t cost much, I don’t think.
ETA: I hadn’t listed these yet but the same sweet lady who requested the Crop Talks also bought this lot …
LOT 8: CREATIVE MEMORIES STICKERS, ETC. $5
*** SOLD ***
Miscellaneous Creative Memories items in their original packaging (handled but not used)

I really just want these items to find a good home, so if you want something but the price isn’t right, make me an offer!
I’ve been talking about the latest line produced by Memory Works as a follow up to their hugely successful Simple Stories “Life Documented” line … the new kit is a quick and easy way to complete school layouts or an entire School Days album and it’s called Simple Stories “ele.ment.ary.”
It was originally slated for release this coming Monday, 8-16-10. I was offline a bit this week and came on tonight (late Thursday) to discover …. they changed the release to tomorrow! ACK!
*** “ele.ment.ary” will be available on my website (https://erika.memory-works.com) as of Friday, 8-13-10 at 8am EST (which is 5am my time aka PST) ***
HERE is a link to the SImple Stories catalog, which shows all the elements and prices for the “Life Documented” and “ele.ment.ary” lines. Take a look at tell me what you think :) There are free “ele.ment.ary” digital downloads and tons of inspiration for using the kit HERE.
I’ll be online processing orders/pre-orders from about 5 to 7am PST tomorrow … erm, today. LOL. If you have any questions or would like to place an order, that would be a wonderful time to do so. Then again, I’m happy to help you at ALL times, my dearies. Just go check out my WEBSITE and/or send me an e-mail … scrapbookobsession(at)gmail(dot)com.
In addition to the excitement over SIMPLE STORIES “ele.ment.ary,” we’re also having a big “clear ’em out for new CHA stuff” sale.
{Well, it’s not officially called that, I just made it up because it was so uber-descriptive …}
Anyway, here are the discounts going on right now … get ’em while they last!
BasicGrey – 20%
Cosmo Cricket – 20%
Bo Bunny – 20%
Crate Paper – 20%
Dear Lizzy – 20%
Girls’ Paperie – 30%
Fancy Pants – 20%
My Mind’s Eye – 20%-30%
Teresa Collins – 30%
GCD Chip Art – 30%
…and so much more!
I know I’ll be doing some shopping … but ain’t I always? LOL Hey, it’s my job! And I excel at my work; what can I say?
PS: Check out that cute little Tweet button down below. How awesome is that? WordPress just added that free feature. Feel free to Tweet my blog entries anytime! I would really appreciate it :)
Judging by my BLOG ENTRY from last time, it’s been just over a year since the last Pink Paislee warehouse sale. Well, it’s time again ~ woot woot!
I was so happy with all the goodies I got last year, it was a no-brainer to buy the Pink Paislee grab box again. I don’t have an LSS anymore and Michaels doesn’t carry Pink Paislee, so if I want any I have to get it online anyway. At least this way, I get a lot more for a lot less.
MEMORY WORKS does carry some Pink Paislee and I purchased the “365 Degrees” THEME SET that I lovelovelove!
I love it so much … that I’m still hoarding it. Maybe I’ll get some more in the grab box so I’ll feel okay about using it, LOL. I also got some STARLIGHT papers recently when Memory Works had a summer sale. It’s such a great and versatile collection that I would love to get more of it.
I hope to get some of these ALPHAS, especially the …
WEATHERED WOOD roughened up chipboard …
… or the CUSHIES pretty italic foam alpha.
Anyhow … just like last year, I’ll post updates when it’s in transit, and post pictures of what I receive. It’s due to ship sometime after August 9, 2010 and I can’t wait!
Did you get a PINK PAISLEE grab box last year and were you happy with it, if you did?
Are you going to get one this time? {If you do, please link us up to your blog with photos of the contents when you get ’em!}
Okay, before I get all giddy about my awesome purchase, I need to be serious for a moment. Come ON! It’s just a MOMENT. That’s all I ask. You can do it.
Sooooo…..
I hate it when online or brick-and-mortar scrapbook stores close, don’t you? I mean, if the person is happily moving on to something else, that’s great. But if the reason is because business isn’t good, then it makes me sad :(
I’m not sure what the case was here, but a friend mentioned that an online store she had DT’d for in the past was closing … and the ENTIRE STORE was 70% off!! Oh, and that day she mentioned it was the LAST day to order. {Otherwise, I would’ve told you about it, I swear!}
Well, you KNOW I hauled my virtual butt right over there and started shopping! I hate that scrapbook store owners have to let their remaining products go for such a huge discount but I guess we can feel good about “taking it off their hands”, right? If we didn’t shop there, they’d be stuck with the merch when all they probably want to do is move on.
Anyway, as usual, I have digressed. You just want to see what goodies I got, don’t you?!?! You cheeky monkeys!
The store was Serendipity Scrapbooks, which I guess there is no reason to link :( I ended up getting $33 worth of scrapbook supplies for $15 INCLUDING shipping, which was about $6 of that.
Ah, I love scrappy mail, don’t you!?!?! Here is the package, my invoice, and a nice note from owner Kristen.

(3) 12×12 pages of BASIC GREY letter stickers – Euphoria, Phoebe, and Scarlet’s letter
.
.
.
One sheet each of some “Cogsmo” (COSMO CRICKET) and “Tiffany’s Collection” (WRMK) paper. Love the Cogsmo vibrant colors and cool design, and the leaves that were cut-outs from the Tiffany’s paper (see where the black is showing through? Cool, huh?)
.
.
.
2 sheets of “Splendid” paper from FANCY PANTS (these are the front and back sides)
This is SO pretty and classy-looking in person. The colors are rich and gorgeous.
.
.
.
2 sheets of “Fakie Green” paper from the now-closed SCENIC ROUTE (these are the front and back sides)
SR has always been a favorite company. I love their simple, fresh designs. I’m scrapping our Phoenix trip with mostly Scenic Route that I’ve hoarded over the years, and this will be added to the collection.
.
.
.
Speaking of Scenic Route, here’s some green twill. It’s thinner/narrower than I thought it was going to be but it’s still nice :) Also, my first-ever purchase of anything CHERRY ARTE – some cute summer rub-ons. I like their style.

Here was my favorite deal of the day: A ton of chipboard shapes called “All Fall” by Fancy Pants. They retailed for $12.99 which, while totally worth that price, I probably wouldn’t have ever spent. Gah, I’m such a cheapwad that I have a really hard time spending that much on a scrapbooking embellishment. Tool? Yeah, sure, but not on a consumable like chipboard.
But yee-haw! With the 70% discount, I could totally justify spending $3.90!
Isn’t it neat how it comes in this cute window box with the slide-out drawer?
.
.
.
Now check out ALL the pieces that come with! Yowzers. I have School Days albums for my kids but the pages so far have been pretty basic, made mostly of patterned paper, cardstock, and some basic accents. I’m going to go through the albums and add some of these cute accents to liven up the pages. Can’t wait!
.
.
.
Isn’t that paperclip cute? Just to put it in perspective, the chipboard totally covers one of my Basic Grey MAGNETIC MATS, which are about 15″x15″. You get a LOT.

Also love the grad cap, and all the sayings and titles. What a great package. So happy I purchased this :)
So that’s my scrapbook mini-haul! Not bad for $15, huh?

Did you know that Michaels now carries THE SLICE? Yep, I saw it there myself. No, I’m really not making it up. It was NOT some mirage I conjured up, it was really there. Uh huh. Oddly, it was not with the scrapbooking section. A whole stand alone display was kind of near the front of the store near some home dec stuff and candles. I didn’t look too closely since I’m not shopping for one, but all the accessories and cards were there, too. I don’t know how their prices compare. And, no, of course you cannot use your coupons on anything with the word “Slice” in it. If Mike’s is selling it for the same price as everywhere else and you can’t use a coupon on it, I’d just as soon buy it from an LSS or online store. Just sayin’…
There was also a mess of new patterned papers, by the sheet, although the prices were totally RIDONCULOUS. I saw Basic Grey, Making Memories, We R Memory Keepers, SEI, Creative Imaginations, and others. The Peas are talking about it HERE. The papers are on sale this week so it’s a good time to check out the new ones. Then again, even with the discount, your LSS may have it cheaper. A great place to online shop is at my friend Stacey’s store, ALL MOMENTS REMEMBERED. She’s been getting in a lot of new stuff lately and if you don’t see what you’re looking for, just ask and she will do her darndest to get it for you. She has the cutest warehouse guys, too!
Speaking ofMAKING MEMORIES, read HERE for some sad news about one of their most popular designer/instructors. I know it’s another sign of the times but that doesn’t make it any less depressing, does it?
Isn’t this a fun paper pack?? I picked it up at Tuesday Morning….retails for $19.99, I paid $5.99.
“CELEBRATION” by American Crafts
Then I used last week’s 40% Michaels coupon on this:
“URBAN PRAIRIE” by BASIC GREY
And I got the D-RING ALBUM on the far right in 12×12 navy leather from Beverly’s Craft Store with a 40% off coupon….
I needed it for a School Days album. I was pretty pleased with myself…got $65 worth of schwag for about $38, I don’t usually spend this much in one day on such big items. It’s usually more like 40% off a $3.99 embellie pack but hey. So, do you think the employees of these stores see me coming? Miss Won’t Shop Without a Coupon, Sale, or Discounted Price? I wonder if I’m their worst nightmare or their sweetest dream? Do you shop {stingy} like me? Ha! I’m laughing all the way to the Scrap Bank.
I just got this e-mail from Frugalities.com. I somewhat hesitate to post it because 1. I’ve never ordered from them so I can’t vouch for their service, and 2. Back when this was a “frenzy” on CKMB, I seem to remember some negative reviews. So, get down with that 45% discount at your own risk…but it sounds like a great deal, doesn’t it???
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
SAVE 45% ON EVERYTHING! WE ARE ENDING 2008 IN A HUGE WAY!!
YOU ASKED FOR A BIG SALE, AND WE ARE RESPONDING!!
SPECIAL PURCHASE! We’ve just made a special purchase of 12,500 different items and we’re offering you exceptional savings: SAVE 45% OFF EVERYTHING.
Sometimes our buyers have the ability to make special purchases. A manufacturer may be overstocked. Or a store may be overstocked. Either way, this means our costs are reduced and we can pass along exceptional savings.
We’ve cleared the shelves once again to get ready for the New Year! We have loaded up 12,500 SKUs which we have made a special purchase on. And, we’re offering a very special no-frills discount of 45% off all retail prices of the entire selection.
Everything in this sale is brand new, first quality, and factory packaged. You just can’t ask for a better way to wrap the year up!!
It isn’t often that we can offer discounts this deep, so hurry as we cannot reorder many of these items and when they are sold out they may be gone forever.
US POSTAL RATES FOR SHIPPING:
As always, everything has been precisely weighed and we only charge US Postal Service rates (to the penny). This means there is no hidden profit built into our shipping. But do remember that at 45% off, a $50 purchase from us weighs twice as much as a $50 purchase from the other stores because you get twice as much for your money from us!
Share us with a friend and you can both save. By the way, if you order together you will save on postage, too! The reason is simple: The post office has a base charge for the delivery and then a per-pound charge, so you only have to pay one base charge if several people place a combined order at the same time. (Please order on a single order as we cannot combine them after they are finalized.)
SORRY, ONLY VISA AND MASTER CARD ACCEPTED FOR THIS SALE: During this sale we only can accept Visa and Master Card (Sorry, no Discover Card or American Express because of the higher processing costs). We thank you for your understanding.
